Light yellowish beverage that has the strength of coffee, the health benefits of tea and the euphoria of chocolate produced from the leaves of the holly tree of south American rainforests. One would call it a herbal tea but it has the caffeine content of mild Arabica coffee. It can be had with a dash of lemon and honey. The flavour of brewed mate is strongly vegetal, herbal, and grassy, reminiscent of some varieties of green tea with hints of tobacco and oak.

Directions

Steep one teaspoon of tea in a cup of hot water (75 to 80 deg C) for 4 to 6 minutes
